"in the last 20 years [...] our understanding of terrestrial biology and the history of life on Earth has changed dramatically.
We now understand that life originated very quickly after it became possible on Earth, that life is much more diverse and robust than we had thought (and able to occupy niches that were thought uninhabitable), and that life may even have originated in the types of extreme environments that we will find on other planets. These really have opened up the possibility that life could exist elsewhere in our solar system, and there are as many as a half-dozen planets or satellites on which we think life might exist."

This is the first image we found, and that made me suspect that other life forms could be hiding into images showing what we always thougt were craters.

The image on the left is an enlargement of a small portion of the well-known "centipedes" or "sand-whales" original shot M0200491.
This image, showing the best view of centipedes so far, was discovered (or at least first presented) by Richard Hoagland in January, 25 2001.

gedeone.jpg (169799 byte) This is the second candidate image we discovered, part of a larger image showing many others samples of different kinds.

The higher resolution permits to see a creature like a mollusc, with sort of a "tail" ending with long "fingers" or something alike. There is no artifact possible in this case. The image is clear and crisp even on the black and white NASA original picture.

What it shows is an object resembling a giant mollusc Read more clicking hereThere is an evidence that these aren't geological shapes and this kind of craters, harbouring samples like this, are not of impact or vulcanic origin. Take a look at Gedeon's lair page

gedeone_face_to_face.jpg (384760 byte) We presented this picture in "Crustacea" section: this is our best image of life forms (after centipedes ) so far.

This huge enlargement shows a portion of an image 750 meters wide. It's clearly visible the "nose" (or upper part) of the "gedeone" standing in his hole. Note the circular border of the hole (not a crater) which shows clear marks and sign of reworking. This creature must have some kind of arms, like shown in the previous image, to have done this work. The image has been taken nearly vertical, in the best possible conditions of illumination and resolution.

This sample is huge: not less than 200 meters wide. This would confirm the trend to gigantism already shown by the centipedes, that are thinner but a thousand of meters long.
No wonder if NASA didn't release any of these pictures to the media.

You can even see the sand  on the "skin" of the creature. Also note that the walls of the hole have a very steep angle and are quite smoothed.

This 600% enlargement of M0200491 fragment shows whar could explain the sand work surrounding the Gedeone's hole.
gedeone_foreigner.jpg (23566 byte) This sample comes from another Mars "continent", in the Isidis Plain 8.6°N 271.5°W.

The original NASA image can be found at m1300766b and the context data at m13007
